On a mountain side and along the Yahoola creek is the Yahoola creek trail system!

Walk through tranquility as the mountain air tantalizes your being and the sights and sounds of the forest tantalizes you senses! Sit in one of our 2 pavilions or our many picnic tables along the creek for a nice picnic lunch! All of this right in the back yard of the town of Dahlonega. Get the serene scene of the high country with out having to travel more than town.

Rules of the trail:

Take only pictures, Leave only footprints.

Pack it in, pack it out.

Dog walking allowed on leash.

No Mountain bikes on upper trails.

No motorized vehicles.

No horses.

No camping.

No open fires.

The trail system is over a mile in length with varying degrees of difficulty. Moderate being the hardest. There are many benches and places to sit and meditate along the way.

In spring, wildflowers abound in many parts of the trail.

A point of interest is the Captain McDonald house, built around 1850. Captain McDonald formed the Blue Ridge Rifles of the Civil War!
